Summer Youth Learn to Row
Ages 10-16
Perfect for beginners—no prior rowing experience required!

We welcome youth athletes of all skill levels to join us for a fun and supportive two-week Summer Learn to Row session on beautiful Gordon Creek and the Chickahominy River. Athletes will learn rowing fundamentals and water safety while building strength, fitness, flexibility, and coordination. Along the way, they’ll make new friends, enjoy time on the water, and experience what it means to be part of a team.

Williamsburg Boat Club’s Youth Program is regionally recognized as an inclusive, competitive, and accomplished rowing community. Many of our athletes go on to row at Division I, II, and III colleges and universities.

Learn to Row is just the starting point. Athletes can continue into our Summer Club Team with pro-rated options based on the timing of their camp, or transition into our Fall programs—creating a clear and flexible pathway to stay involved and keep progressing.

After completing the two-week session, athletes are invited to join our Middle School or High School Club Team. Practices are held at the same time, making it easy to continue and build on the skills developed during camp.

Rising 6th and 7th graders are encouraged to continue in our Middle School Program during the school year. Athletes entering 8th through 12th grade can progress into our High School Club Team, with the opportunity to move into the Performance Team after gaining experience.

All participants must be able to swim.
