
Adult Learn to Row
Learn a NEW skill and become part of a welcoming and supportive community on the beautiful Chickahominy River and Gordon Creek!
Adult Learn to Row is open to anyone age 18 and over
**no prior experience required**

Several times each year, Williamsburg Boat Club hosts a Try Rowing Day, followed by an Adult Learn to Row course for those interested in continuing.
​
Try Rowing Day
A beginner-friendly introduction where participants learn the basics of rowing and get the opportunity to get out on the water.
Programs typically begin around $20.
​
Following Try Rowing Day, participants can enroll in our Adult Learn to Row class:

Adult Learn to Row (LTR)
A short, multi-session program designed to teach the fundamentals of rowing, including technique, boat handling, water safety, and teamwork, with time both on land and on the water.
Programs typically begin around $230.
​
After completing Learn to Row, participants who wish to continue can join the:
​
Adult Development Team (ADT)
A coached program where newer rowers continue building skills, fitness, and confidence while rowing alongside our Masters program. ADT serves as the bridge between learning the basics and becoming a full member of the team.
Monthly training options available.

As skills progress, rowers may transition into the:

WBC Masters Rowing Program
Our adult program for experienced rowers offering regular coached practices, structured training, and opportunities for both recreational and performance-focused rowing.

Everyone learns at a different pace, and our coaches are happy to help guide participants toward the next step that best fits their goals.
