Adult Learn to Row
Our Learn to Row classes are open to anyone age 18 and over who is interested in rowing—no prior experience required. Come learn the sport, enjoy time on the beautiful Gordon Creek and Chickahominy River, and become part of a supportive and welcoming rowing community.

Each session includes eight 90-minute classes. Specific days and times will be posted below as they become available. Instruction covers
proper warm-up and stretching, rowing technique on land and on the water, boat handling, water safety, and teamwork.

Erg Sessions are 60 minute classes in conjunction with our experineced masters. This is a perfect entry point for anyone interested in learning to row on the water while also getting to know some of our experienced rowers!

Everyone learns at a different pace. At the conclusion of the Learn to Row program, our coaches will help guide you to the next step that best fits your goals. Some participants choose to continue with another Learn to Row session, others benefit from private lessons, and many move directly into rowing with the WBC Masters Team. All participants will have the opportunity to try Masters rowing for two weeks before committing to the full season.
