Adult Learn to Row
Our Adult Learn to Row program is open to anyone age 18 and over who is interested in learning the sport of rowing
**no prior experience required**
Join us on the beautiful Chickahominy River and Gordon Creek, learn a new skill, and become part of a welcoming and supportive rowing community.

Several times each year, Williamsburg Boat Club hosts a Try Rowing Day, followed by an Adult Learn to Row course for those interested in continuing.Try Rowing Day is a beginner-friendly introduction where participants learn the basics of rowing and get the opportunity to get out on the water.

Following Try Rowing Day, participants can enroll in our Adult Learn to Row class, a short multi-session program designed to teach the fundamentals of rowing. Instruction includes basic rowing technique, boat handling, water safety, teamwork, and time both on land and on the water.

After completing Learn to Row, participants who wish to continue can join the WBC Adult Development Team, where newer rowers continue building skills and confidence while rowing alongside our Masters program.
As skills progress, rowers may transition into the WBC Masters Team, our adult rowing program offering regular coached practices and opportunities for both recreational and performance-focused rowing.

Everyone learns at a different pace, and our coaches are happy to help guide participants toward the next step that best fits their goals.
