Middle School Rowing
WBC’s Youth Program is a regionally recognized rowing team known for being inclusive, competitive, and highly accomplished. Many of our athletes go on to row at top Division I, II, and III colleges and universities—and it all can start in middle school!

We welcome 6th, 7th, and 8th grade athletes of all skill levels and abilities to join us throughout the year. (Most 8th graders transition to our High School program once they’ve learned the basics.) Athletes learn water safety and foundational rowing skills while building strength, fitness, flexibility, and confidence. Along the way, they’ll make new friends, enjoy time on the water, and be part of a supportive team environment.

In the fall and spring, middle school athletes train three afternoons per week. Each season concludes with a “mini regatta,” giving athletes the chance to showcase their progress for family and friends. Summer rowing takes place in the mornings and helps athletes reinforce skills and continue building fitness. Winter training is held indoors with a focus on general athletic development, technique, and team bonding.
