Williamsburg Rowing Center - Tourism

A Better Base for Rowing and a Feature for the Historic Triangle

  • WBC is pro-active in supporting and building the sport of rowing on the Virginia Peninsula, and our Director of Rowing is part of the US Rowing Youth Coaches Council. In less than ten years the Club has become a leader in the Region – with limited equipment and facilities but great support from our community and the Park.  Our damaged waters from years ago have become a hidden gem and an unmatchable rowing venue – an invaluable asset for Williamsburg.

  • The WBC Rowing Center will build this resource, broadening programs and water access for the community and featuring the Park and its facilities to visitors that attend one of our two regattas.  The Head of the Chickahominy Fall regatta has become an important regional event extending its reach within the Mid-Atlantic.   Park improvements along with the Rowing Center and Waterfront projects will turn this into a destination event for Clubs and Colleges in the near future.

  • The WBC Rowing Center and Waterfront improvements will give James City County and the historic triangle a venue for events that can attract local, regional and even national rowing competitions.
