High School Rowing
HIGH SCHOOL ROWING
WBC's Juniors program is regionally recognized as an inclusive, competitive, and accomplished rowing program. Our rowers compete locally, regionally and nationally in both sweep boats (one oar) and sculling (two oars). Many go on to attend top tier rowing programs at Division 1, 2 and 3 colleges and universities.
High school athletes train after school in the fall and spring seasons, and have the opportunity to compete at several weekend regattas. Summer rowing is in the morning and offers athletes the opportunity to reinforce skills and build on what they have learned during the year. Winter training is indoors with an emphasis on fitness, skill, and team bonding.
We welcome high school athletes of all skill and ability to join us throughout the year. Come join a great team, develop athletically to the best of your ability, and make lifelong friends along the way!
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING with Crossfit 1607
WBC partners with Crossfit 1607 to complement the water and land training that we do at the boathouse. Building body awareness, coordination, mobility, flexibility and strength are an integral part of proper athletic development, improved water performance, injury prevention and the promotion of better overall well being! The WBC coaches work with 1607 to put a full comprehensive rowing development program together. We recommend and encourage our rowers to sign up for the additional training.
